Howdy all. So, CadyAnn is almost 6 months old now. Ridiculous, right? I am hoping I don't have skin cancer or pre-cancer because we found a mole on my head that looks... a little freaky. Definitely not normal. I am going to see if my OB will at least look at it when I go see him for my 6 mo. followup February 11.
It's my 22nd birthday. Woot. Basically, yesterday sucked... Awkwardness. I don't really wanna go into it here, tho. Not right now.
Now, a little thought about the election and inauguration of Barack Obama. I love that he got elected, and I think that he is a great man with so much potential to do good for our country. I don't think people realize tho, that it shouldn't be surprising that he won over Hilary Clinton. History was just repeating itself. Black MEN always achieve "rights" before women. I say "rights" because it includes the right to vote, the presidency, everything. The only thing women got on them was that we didn't have to sit at the back of the bus before the last civil rights movement, as long as they weren't black women. Anyway, back to my blog. Black people gained the right to vote 50 years before women ever did. So, by electing a black man for president, to me, it really does mean that women do have a chance! I just think it's sad that there are such racial and gender inequalities. Hail to the white protestant man, I guess.
I also think it's sad that our nation, and perhaps the world, is turning Obama into a celebrity. He's a president, not a Jonas Brother. Gimme a break! I like him, too, but I'll be damned before I buy an Obama bobblehead doll, I <3 Obama shirt, Obama plate or plaque... WTF?!
So, those are my thoughts for now. My baby is crying and needs her mommy, so ta ta.
